Episode 18 – I’ll Be Home For Christmas

Live on tape from my parents’ basement…

Yep.  I have no shame in saying that this episode of the podcast comes from the toasty warm, natural gas heated confines of my Canadian bedroom as I take a break from time with family here to talk a little bit about coming home.

(And, before we go any further, yes – that photo is of me. Christmas 1985. What a bowtie!)

Coming home is a big part of life in a smaller city like Yorkton, with so many people choosing to go elsewhere to pursue their life goals.  It makes for some interesting encounters, bumping in to people you once knew, you were once close with, and often people who you know more from Facebook these days than spending time face to face.

From the bright fall colours of Tokyo to the snowy roads of home in Canada - it's amazing how the scenery can change with 24 hours in transit.

This is a shortened edition of the podcast.  Next week, some post-Christmas thoughts as I get on to a plane to head back to Asia.  I hope you’ll follow my travels in the new year!
