My career has taught me about creating and curating content for broadcast platforms. My own interest in digital media inspired me to branch out beyond radio and television – through blogging, creating podcasts, and having conversations using social media.
Now, I want to use my skills to help organizations push forward their goals through storytelling.
Who I Am
After graduating from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology’s Broadcast News program, I started my career in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada working for a number of TV and radio stations as a reporter, anchor, producer, and station programmer.
In the past, I have documented stories from my travels on my personal portfolio blog – JohnHimpe.com – with a focus on pop culture and unique travel experiences. In 2015, I launched a travel podcast – Boarding Call – which shared current travel news, destination features, and interviews with travellers on a number of topics.
In addition to telling stories of travel on Gone John, I am seeking opportunities to share my travel storytelling on various other platforms – whether they are podcasts, blogs, or print publications.
I am not seeking opportunities to produce sponsored posts or other forms of advertorial content. Gone John is also not accepting any guest posts at this time – although I am interested in collaborations on podcasts or video productions.
If your brand is looking for an opportunity to align itself with content in the travel and adventure category, we should have a conversation. While I am not seeking to produce sponsored content, I am looking to entertain transparent sponsorship opportunities.
